Gaston Day Varsity Volleyball kept its undefeated start rolling Friday night, defeating Village Christian Academy 3-1 to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Spartans came out strong, taking the opening set 25-16 before Village Christian responded with a tight 25-23 win in the second. Gaston Day answered emphatically in the third, winning 25-14, and closed out the match with a hard-fought 25-22 victory in the fourth. Offensively, the Spartans finished with 54 kills and 52 assists, while also making an impact from the service line with 13 aces. Defensively, Gaston Day collected 71 digs and five total blocks. K. Taylor (#16) led the Spartan attack with an impressive 44 kills, hitting .266 for the match while also contributing three total blocks. The victory gives Gaston Day its third consecutive win to begin the season and continues a strong opening stretch for the Spartans.
